รัฐบาลเปิดโครงการประกันภัยพิบัติ 11 บริษัทเข้าร่วม คุ้มครอง 30 ล้านครัวเรือน
รัฐบาลได้ดำเนินโครงการประกันภัยพิบัติเพื่อประชาชน โดยภาครัฐเป็นผู้จัดซื้อประกันภัยให้กับประชาชนเพื่อให้มีหลักประกันรองรับความเสียหายจากภัยพิบัติ โดยมีบริษัทประกันภัยเข้าร่วมรับประกันภัยในโครงการรวมทั้งสิ้น 11 บริษัท ได้แก่ บริษัท กรุงเทพประกันภัย จำกัด (มหาชน) บริษัท กรุงไทยพานิชประกันภัย จำกัด (มหาชน) บริษัท คุ้มภัยโตเกียวมารีนประกันภัย (ประเทศไทย) จำกัด (มหาชน) บริษัท ทิพยประกันภัย จำกัด (มหาชน) บริษัท ไทยไพบูลย์ประกันภัย จำกัด (มหาชน) บริษัท ประกันภัยไทยวิวัฒน์ จำกัด (มหาชน) บริษัท ฟอลคอนประกันภัย จำกัด (มหาชน) บริษัท เมืองไทยประกันภัย จำกัด (มหาชน) บริษัท วิริยะประกันภัย จำกัด (มหาชน) บริษัท เอ็ม เอส ไอ จี ประกันภัย (ประเทศไทย) จำกัด (มหาชน) และบริษัท ไอแคร์ ประกันภัย จำกัด (มหาชน) โครงการนี้คุ้มครองภัยธรรมชาติ ได้แก่ อุทกภัย วาตภัย และแผ่นดินไหว ครอบคลุม 30 ล้านครัวเรือนทั่วประเทศ เริ่มให้ความคุ้มครองตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 ต.ค. 69 ถึง 30 ก.ย. 70 และมีการต่อประกันภัยทุกปี โดยความคุ้มครองที่อยู่อาศัยสูงสุด 100,000 บาทต่อครั้งต่อหลังคาเรือน แบ่งเป็นอุทกภัย ความเสียหายเบื้องต้น 10,000 บาท ไม่เกิน 90,000 บาท วาตภัย ความเสียหายเบื้องต้น 5,000 บาท ไม่เกิน 95,000 บาท และแผ่นดินไหว ความเสียหายเบื้องต้น 5,000 บาท ไม่เกิน 95,000 บาท ส่วนภัยน้ำล้อม หากที่อยู่อาศัยถูกน้ำล้อมจนไม่สามารถดำรงชีวิตได้ตามปกติติดต่อกันเกิน 7 วัน รับค่าชดเชย 10,000 บาทต่อครั้งต่อหลังคาเรือน ขณะที่ความคุ้มครองชีวิตจากอุบัติเหตุอยู่ที่ 2,000,000 บาทต่อคน
