US Antimony Reports Third Quarter MIL-SPEC Antimony Shipments to Defense Logistics Agency
United States Antimony Corporation announced an update on its third quarter delivery of Military Specification antimony ingot shipments to the Defense Logistics Agency under its existing $245 million sole-source supply contract. USAC is the sole producer of MIL-SPEC antimony ingots, which are more than 99.6% pure, in the Western Hemisphere. Antimony flake feedstock from the company's joint partner's Bolivian Hydrometallurgical facility landed at the Thompson Falls smelters during the third quarter, and its roughly 99% purity is expected to significantly improve the efficiency of the company's gas-fired furnaces. Chairman and CEO Gary C. Evans said the company is fulfilling the first significant delivery of a finished product in its nearly 60 year history, and that processing has begun on Stibnite Hill, Montana, antimony material mined late last year and this year, which now totals in excess of 400,000 pounds and is stockpiled at Radersburg, Montana.
