Solaris Powers Up: Earnings Beat, Omega Deal, Raised Guidance, $1.25B Notes

  • Q2 earnings beat and raised guidance Solaris reported Q2 earnings of 39 cents per share, beating estimates, with revenue up 47% to $219 million. The company raised its Q3 EBITDA guidance and set a strong Q4 outlook, signaling robust demand for its power solutions.

This is a new event that directly shows the company's financial strength and growth, pushing the stock up.

  • Acquisition of Omega adds EPC capabilities Solaris acquired Omega Foundation Services for about $101 million in cash plus stock and debt. Omega specializes in engineering and construction for data centers, expanding Solaris's services and opening new markets. The deal is expected to immediately boost earnings and cash flow.

This new acquisition expands Solaris's business and is accretive, driving the stock higher.

  • Raised guidance and strong hedge fund interest Solaris raised its Q3 and Q4 EBITDA guidance significantly and initiated Q1 2027 guidance, citing strong core power services and recent acquisitions. Hedge fund holdings surged 32.7% to $1.3 billion, showing growing institutional confidence.

This new guidance revision and hedge fund activity directly influence investor sentiment and the stock price.

  • Upsized $1.25B senior notes offering Solaris priced $1.25 billion in 7% senior notes due 2032, upsized from $1 billion. Proceeds will fund growth and general purposes. While this provides capital for expansion, it also increases debt and interest costs, creating a mixed impact.

Solaris Energy rides AI power demand, but high valuation and debt raise risks

  • AI-driven power demand and raised guidance Solaris Energy benefited from strong demand for power from AI data centers, leading to raised financial guidance and analyst upgrades with price targets up to $120. This reflects growing demand for its infrastructure solutions.

This is a key positive driver for the stock, showing fundamental strength.

  • Q2 earnings beat and Omega acquisition Q2 earnings beat estimates with revenue up 47% to $219 million. The ~$101 million Omega acquisition added data-center engineering, procurement, and construction capabilities expected to boost earnings immediately.

This highlights strong financial performance and strategic growth.

  • S&P SmallCap 600 inclusion and hedge fund buying Solaris was added to the S&P SmallCap 600 index, which can increase demand from index funds. Hedge fund holdings rose 32.7% to $1.3 billion, signaling strong institutional interest.

These events can boost stock demand and liquidity.

  • High valuation and increased debt The stock trades at a very high 92x price-to-earnings ratio and had already fallen 21% in a month, leaving it vulnerable to any slowdown. Solaris also upsized a $1.25 billion senior notes offering at 7% due 2032, increasing debt and interest costs.

These are significant risks that could pressure the stock.

Solaris Energy Infrastructure Issues US$1 Billion Senior Notes Due 2032

Solaris Energy Infrastructure, LLC announced in September 2026 that it had issued US$1.00 billion of senior unsecured notes due 2032, guaranteed by Solaris and its key subsidiaries, with proceeds earmarked for general corporate purposes, growth capital expenditures, and offering-related costs. The US$1.00 billion issuance is a sub-component of Solaris's broader debt-market funding push, which also includes the May 2026 financing package of a US$1.30 billion senior unsecured bond and a US$650 million revolving credit facility. The company's narrative projects $2.4 billion in revenue and $558.5 million in earnings by 2029, requiring 46.4% yearly revenue growth and an earnings increase of about $505 million from $53.0 million today. Some of the most optimistic analysts were already projecting around US$1.9 billion of revenue and roughly US$595 million of earnings by 2029, so the fresh US$1.00 billion debt raise could either reinforce their growth story or sharpen concerns about overreliance on a few large gas powered contracts. The company's forecasts yield a $97.20 fair value, a 37% upside to its current price, while other fair value estimates suggest the stock might be worth just $73.00.

Energy Stocks Surge as IEA Warns of 5.7 Million Barrel Daily Oil Supply Drop

Energy stocks rallied after escalating attacks on Middle East shipping corridors and production shut-ins raised fears of severe global crude shortages, with crude benchmarks on track for an 8% weekly advance. Reuters reported that the International Energy Agency forecast a massive drop in global oil supply of 5.7 million barrels per day in 2026, driven by ongoing shut-ins across the Gulf and delayed normalization of flows into 2027. The deficit is expected to accelerate worldwide inventory drawdowns and push Atlantic Basin refining margins to record levels. Among the movers, Tsakos Energy Navigation Limited jumped 6.1%, Solaris Energy Infrastructure jumped 8.3%, DHT Holdings jumped 3.1%, and Calumet jumped 1.6%. Solaris Energy Infrastructure, whose shares have had 73 moves greater than 5% over the last year, is up 38% since the beginning of the year but at $69.34 per share still trades 16.3% below its 52-week high of $82.88 from June 2026.

Energy Stocks Jump After Iran Rules Out Extending Hormuz Deal

Solaris Energy Infrastructure, SM Energy, and Chord Energy shares soared in afternoon trading after Iran ruled out extending a 60-day memorandum of understanding with the United States that was meant to reopen the Strait of Hormuz while the two sides negotiated a nuclear deal. Solaris Energy Infrastructure jumped 3.6%, SM Energy jumped 4%, and Chord Energy jumped 3.6% as energy stocks rebounded on expectations that a blocked strait would reduce crude supply and raise oil prices. A senior Iranian official told Reuters that Tehran would shift from defense to offense if diplomacy fails, while President Trump told Fox News he has no time schedule and is not in a hurry. SM Energy's shares are extremely volatile and have had 30 moves greater than 5% over the last year, and today's move indicates the market considers this news meaningful but not something that would fundamentally change its perception of the business.

Solaris Energy Infrastructure Seen as 25.2% Undervalued Ahead of S&P 600 Inclusion

Solaris Energy Infrastructure is trading at a 25.2% discount to a narrative fair value of $89.73, according to an analysis that ties the valuation gap to long-term power capacity and contract assumptions. The stock last closed at $67.15 and has drawn attention following news of its upcoming inclusion in the S&P SmallCap 600 and growth in its Power Solutions segment, which is supported by long-term contracts with major technology clients. Despite a recent pullback, the shares have returned 33.61% year to date and 113.3% over the past year. The analysis highlights accelerating demand for grid resiliency, electrification, and AI-driven data center power needs as drivers for the company's modular, scalable power generation solutions, with significant revenue growth expected as new capacity deliveries ramp through 2026 and beyond. However, the current price-to-earnings ratio of 92.4 times stands well above the US Energy Services industry average of 26.6 times and a fair ratio of 28.3 times, pointing to valuation risk if growth expectations moderate.
