The company sells for research use only to academic institutions, research centers, and biopharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. It was formerly known as Fluidigm Corporation and changed its name to Standard BioTools Inc. in November 2001. Incorporated in 1999, it is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts.
