Webull's Record Quarter and Thailand Deal Drive Growth Story

  • Record Q2 Earnings Beat Webull reported its strongest quarter as a public company, with revenue up 51% to $198.8 million and adjusted profit up 169% to $62.6 million. This beat expectations and showed the business is growing fast, pushing the stock up 14%.

This is the core new event that directly caused a large price jump and confirms Webull's growth trajectory.

  • Day-Trader Rule Repeal Boosts Trading The June 2026 removal of the $25,000 minimum balance for frequent day trading led to a nearly 300% surge in retail crypto orders. Webull's average account is about $5,500, so this rule change unlocked many customers, driving record trading volume and revenue.

This regulatory change is a key new driver behind the record quarter and future growth, directly boosting trading activity.

  • Thailand Acquisition Expands Reach Webull Thailand completed the acquisition of 99.36% of Pi Securities for about $100 million, aiming to grow total assets under management to 200 billion baht by 2027. This expands Webull's international footprint and adds new services like crypto ETFs.

This is a new strategic move that opens a new market and revenue stream, supporting long-term growth.

  • User Growth Slows Registered-user growth slowed to 13%, the slowest in at least three years. The record quarter relied on existing customers trading more, not new accounts. This is a concern for future growth if trading activity normalizes.

This is a real counterweight to the positive earnings, highlighting a potential weakness that could limit future gains.

Robinhood Falls 5% After Prosecutors Charge Two Ex-Engineers Over Crypto Trades

Federal prosecutors in Manhattan have charged two former Robinhood engineers with front-running crypto listings, sending Robinhood shares down 5% to $105.1 and Webull shares down 9% to $7.92. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York announced charges against Hefu Chai and Huaisong Xiang, each facing one count of violating the Commodity Exchange Act; prosecutors allege the two bought perpetual futures tokens on the decentralized exchange Hyperliquid ahead of Robinhood's public announcements that the underlying tokens would be listed on Robinhood Crypto. U.S. Attorney Jamie McDonald said each is alleged to have profited more than $50,000. Robinhood itself is not accused of wrongdoing, and the sell-off reflects broker-specific regulatory and reputational risk rather than a broader crypto move, with the iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF down 0.6% to $42.86 and the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust up 0.4% to $760.33. The Senate's failure to advance the CLARITY Act digital asset bill in a procedural vote on Tuesday had already pressured crypto-linked equities before the charges landed.

Webull Gets $7.77 Hold Target After Record Q2 and Q3 Revenue Miss

24/7 Wall St. has set a $7.77 price target on Webull with a hold rating and 90% confidence, implying 10.25% downside from the current price of $8.66. The call follows a mixed stretch in which Webull's Q3 2026 revenue reached $198.83 million, up 26.7% year over year but missing consensus by 8.97%, with GAAP diluted EPS of $0.04 falling short of the $0.065 estimate, while the prior Q2 quarter delivered record DARTs of 1.6 million, up 62% year over year, and customer assets of $28.5 billion, up 79%. CEO Anthony Denier called the SEC's elimination of the Pattern Day Trader rule on June 4, 2026 the company's defining event for the quarter, and Q2 adjusted operating profit jumped 169% to $62.6 million. The bear case rests on an 88.09% effective tax rate, negative operating cash flow of $250.9 million in the first half of 2026, revenue concentration with two counterparties at 19% and 11%, and $50 million of promissory notes due April 2027, with a bear-case target of $6.65. Webull's $3.95 billion market cap remains far below Robinhood's roughly $87.3 billion, and its forward P/E of 173 looks aggressive next to Interactive Brokers and Charles Schwab, though the $100 million Pi Securities deal in Thailand, which closed on August 31, 2026, targets THB 200 billion in assets under management and international funded accounts have reached 810,000.

TTB partners with Webull to launch "My Wealth" for US stocks and ETFs via ttb touch

TMBThanachart Bank, or TTB, has launched its "My Wealth" service through the ttb touch application, partnering with Webull to let customers invest in US stocks and ETFs. Kanokwan Phetpisitchot, Head of the Bank Transaction Products and Financial Wealth Management Group at TTB, said Thais hold deposits equal to 57% of their financial assets, while investment assets account for only 23%, below the global average of 45% and the US figure of 59%. Naris Aruksakulwong, Head of the Strategy and Digital Group at TTB, said the money management market offers three main options. Mobile banking has roughly 150 million accounts in total and combined AUM of about 15 to 16 trillion baht. Retail securities trading accounts in the Thai stock market number fewer than 5 million, with combined AUM of only 3.4 trillion baht. Alternative investment platforms have about 3 million users and combined AUM of only 300 billion baht. In the past quarter, the bank's investment income grew at a double-digit rate year on year, driven by a policy interest rate of about 1%, which has set off a flow of funds from deposit accounts into investment accounts. TTB sees an opportunity in the Mass Affluent segment, or MAF, with assets of under 1 million baht, which currently has a base of about 6,000 customers and combined AUM of more than 280 billion baht. The bank expects at least 50% of its 600,000-strong customer base to start using "My Wealth". Chonladech Khemarattana, Chief Executive Officer of Webull Securities (Thailand) Company Limited, or Webull, said Thai investors are increasingly interested in global investing, especially in diversifying their portfolios into overseas markets and leading global companies in technology and innovation, with the US market remaining one of the key markets drawing interest from investors worldwide.

Robinhood and Webull Rally as PDT Rule Repeal Sparks Retail Crypto Orders

Robinhood Markets stock rose 7% to $110.97 and Webull climbed 4% to $8.86 after Webull CEO Anthony Denier reported a nearly 300% increase in retail buy orders for Bitcoin and Ethereum since the June 4 repeal of the pattern day trader rule. Denier told CNBC that the old $25,000 minimum equity requirement had locked out most Webull users, whose average account holds about $5,500, and that the repeal helped lift Webull's quarterly revenue from $160 million in Q1 to nearly $200 million. Webull's Q2 2026 revenue of $198.83 million beat the $182.83 million consensus, with trading-related revenue up 66% year over year to $147.7 million and daily average revenue trades hitting a record 1.6 million. The ARK Blockchain & Fintech Innovation ETF gained 2% to $46.45 while the iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF added just 0.6% to $44.92, underscoring that brokers capture a trading-volume premium that pure spot Bitcoin funds do not. Baltimore sues Kalshi and Polymarket over unlicensed sports betting

The city of Baltimore, Maryland, filed suit on August 13 in Baltimore City Circuit Court against prediction market operators Kalshi and Polymarket, alleging they are offering illegal sports betting without obtaining a state license. The lawsuit against Kalshi also names affiliates of Coinbase, Robinhood, and Webull that partner with the company to offer event contracts. The complaints argue that products the two firms call event contracts or prediction markets are essentially the same wagers as traditional sportsbooks covering game outcomes, point spreads, and player performance, allowing them to evade state oversight, taxation, responsible gambling measures, and consumer protections. Mayor Brandon Scott said in a statement that these companies are operating sportsbooks without a license and believe they can avoid the law by giving them a new name, but that will not work. Kalshi countered that it is a legitimate prediction market operating under federal regulation and said it will contest the claims in court. Baltimore is seeking the maximum civil penalties allowed by law, restitution to affected users, disgorgement of ill-gotten profits, and an injunction barring the offering of unlicensed sports betting in the city.

Webull Stock Needs 313% Gain to Hit $30 by 2031

Webull shares would need to surge 313% from $7.26 to reach $30 by 2031, a target that requires forward EPS to expand to $1.00 and a 30x multiple. The company posted a 104% jump in equity notional trading volume to $261 billion in the first quarter, but a 68% rise in operating expenses against 36% revenue growth drove a GAAP net loss of $21.72 million. Wall Street analysts have a consensus price target of $12.33, while the 24/7 Wall St. model sets a base case of $10.25. CEO Anthony Denier cited record demand from sophisticated investors, though a potential ban on payment for order flow remains the fastest threat to the outlook.
BULL · Capital · Negative GAAP net loss and rising expenses overshadow revenue growth, while a potential PFOF ban threatens outlook.

CFTC Sues Kentucky Over Prediction Market Crackdown and Excise Tax

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission filed a federal lawsuit against Kentucky on June 23, 2026, challenging the state's recent shutdown orders and a 14.25% excise tax on prediction market transaction fees. Kentucky had moved the prior week to block Polymarket, Kalshi, Coinbase, Robinhood, and Webull, calling them unlicensed gambling operators, and the CFTC argues the tax makes the business economically impossible in the state. The complaint names Governor Andrew Beshear, Attorney General Russell Coleman, Department of Revenue Commissioner Thomas Miller, and the Kentucky Racing and Gaming Corporation as defendants, seeking declaratory and injunctive relief. The CFTC's legal theory relies on federal preemption under the Commodity Exchange Act, asserting that Kalshi and Polymarket are federally licensed exchanges and their event contracts are swaps. A parallel suit was filed by the Coalition for Fair Markets, representing Kalshi, Polymarket, Crypto.com, and Robinhood, calling the tax discriminatory and unconstitutional.
