The company also operates ambulatory facilities and telehealth services, including primary and specialty care clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, urgent care centers, free-standing emergency departments, and diagnostic imaging centers. It operates acute care, rehabilitation, and surgical hospitals. Formerly known as Ardent Health Partners, Inc., it changed its name to Ardent Health, Inc. in June 2025. Founded in 2001, it is based in Brentwood, Tennessee, and is a subsidiary of EGI-AM Investments, L.L.C.

University of Kansas Health System to Take Full Ownership of St. Francis Campus

The University of Kansas Health System and Ardent Health announced the signing of a definitive agreement for The University of Kansas Health System to acquire full ownership of St. Francis Campus and affiliated care locations in Topeka, following a joint venture partnership of nearly 10 years. Under the new ownership structure, all operational responsibilities and clinical functions previously managed by Ardent Health since the start of the partnership will transition to The University of Kansas Health System. The deal is expected to close later this year, with both organizations targeting completion by the end of 2026, subject to necessary approvals and other customary closing conditions. Ardent Health will remain involved in daily campus operations for a period to be defined at deal close to ensure continuation of existing strategic projects. Since the 2017 joint venture, the partnership expanded access to care through over 20 new clinics and outpatient care sites and added advanced cardiovascular and cancer care services. Ardent Health, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker ARDT, operates 30 acute care hospitals and more than 280 sites of care across six states.
