Accuray and Samsung NeuroLogica Partner on Volumetric Imaging for CyberKnife

Accuray Incorporated announced it has entered into agreements with Samsung HME America, Inc., doing business as NeuroLogica Corp., to pursue advanced volumetric imaging capabilities for the CyberKnife System. The collaboration pairs Samsung NeuroLogica's experience in mobile computed tomography and volumetric imaging with Accuray's expertise in precision treatment delivery, robotic radiosurgery, and motion management, and is one component of Accuray's broader strategy to accelerate innovation through a deliberate combination of internally developed technologies and strategic partnerships. The announcement coincides with the American Society of Radiation Oncology Annual Meeting in Boston, where the companies are highlighting the collaboration, and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is the first centre worldwide to participate. Accuray President and Chief Executive Officer Steve La Neve said the collaboration reflects clarity about where the company should lead and where it should collaborate, while Samsung HME America Head of Business for Mobile CT Boris Geyzer said the discussion begins with better visualization of anatomy in the treatment room. The collaboration will progress through phased development activities as the companies evaluate technical, clinical, and commercial opportunities, and no commercial product offering has been announced, with future developments subject to ongoing evaluation and applicable regulatory requirements.
