教育サービス企業ストラテジック・エデュケーションとワークフォース・エッジの委託でハリス・ポールが水曜日に発表した調査によると、米国のZ世代の医療従事者の約70%が今後1年以内に新しい職を探すことを考えている。この結果は、2038年までに約50万人の労働者不足が見込まれる米国の医療雇用主にとって、人材確保の課題を浮き彫りにしている。しかし、Z世代の回答者の65%は最終的には1つの雇用主のもとで5年以上働き続けたいと答えており、ほぼ全員が雇用の安定が重要だと述べている。全年齢層では、医療従事者の59%が今後1年以内に新しい職を探すと予想している。6月12日から7月1日にかけてオンラインで実施されたこの調査は、医療従事者1514人と雇用主304社を対象とし、雇用主のほぼ半数が離職の最大の理由としてキャリア成長や研修の不足を挙げた一方、従業員の約4人に1人だけが雇用主が自分の将来に投資してくれると信頼していることが分かった。雇用主も労働力計画における人工知能の評価を見直しているようで、約79%が従業員が競争力を維持するにはAIスキルが不可欠になると答えたが、これは1年前の89%から減少している。
